The organization is currently in the process of moving its core production facilities from Italy to neighbouring European Countries, as well as South America. The relocation is designed to drive down costs. This is in response to the challenging economic conditions. Product quality remains a key concern - the move should not impact on the quality of production, nor the product availability to customers. Industrial relations and stakeholder relations are expected to be a key feature of this role. Whilst it is clear that this is a move that is going to take place, it has not yet been decided how best to ‘make this happen'. This role therefore has a strategic element (ie developing the plans for implementation), followed by the actual implementation. You will also play a key advisory role as an expert in production/site moves to the Board.
This is an exciting assignment, where the successful candidate will take full responsibility for delivering these innovative changes. You will work closely with HR and Legal teams to produce and then execute the country ‘exit strategy', and then subsequently for leading local communication, driving a team locally to deliver the plans.
It is essential to have experience gained at Director Level (GM, Divisional Director or MD) in a production organization and have taken responsibility for a site/production move to another country. This is a senior opportunity with a direct reporting line to the European Board. Candidates who have managed a site move from end to end within Europe and/or South America will be of particular interest. Additionally experience gained in the Pharmaceuticals manufacturing or medical devices industries would be an advantage, though this experience is not essential. This is not a role that is purely finance, HR or production but takes in the full spectrum of activities associated with such a move.
Candidates applying must demonstrate clearly that they are able to speak fluent Italian (and English).
The assignment will be primarily Italy based, with some travel throughout Europe and South America.
The assignment is due to start as soon as possible and is expected to last for 12-18 months.
Your CV will be forwarded to: James O'Loughlin, 020 7079 3737
